What Does it Mean to Proclaim the Lord’s Death?
Given by David Johnson on February 24, 2012 · Available Formats: Audio
Scripture tells us that by our participation in the symbols of the Passover, we are “proclaiming the Lord’s death.” Proclaiming the Lord’s death till He comes is a sacred duty and honor that each of us have. That proclamation is personal, not corporate. This service is not kept in the public eye; it is a proclamation we make to one another – and perhaps more importantly, to ourselves. We are not simply announcing the fact that Jesus died. We are, through our annual participation in this memorial, solemnly affirming that His death and its significance are important to us.
